1. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS
By accessing and using Campus Tea ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Platform.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Campus Tea. Your continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of any modifications to these Terms.
2. DEFINITIONS
For the purposes of these Terms, the following definitions apply:
- "Platform" means the Campus Tea website, mobile application, and all related services
- "User" means any individual who accesses or uses the Platform
- "Insider" means independent contractors who provide mentorship and information about campus life, classes, and college experience through the Platform
- "Prospective Student" means individuals seeking mentorship and information about college life and campus experience from Insiders
- "Session" means a scheduled meeting between a Prospective Student and an Insider
- "Content" means any information, data, text, images, or other materials posted on the Platform
3. DESCRIPTION OF SERVICE
Campus Tea is an online platform that facilitates connections between:
- Prospective Students seeking information about college life, campus culture, and academic experiences
- College Students ("Insiders") providing informational guidance about campus life, classes, and college experience
IMPORTANT: Campus Tea is a technology platform that connects users. We do not provide educational services directly. All informational guidance, campus insights, and college experience sharing is provided by independent third-party users (Insiders) who are not employees of Campus Tea.
The Platform offers:
- Profile browsing and search functionality
- Video session booking and management
- Payment processing for sessions
- Review and rating systems
- University and major-based filtering
4. USER ACCOUNTS AND REGISTRATION
4.1 Account Creation
- Users must provide accurate, current, and complete information
- Users must be at least 13 years old to create an account
- Users under 18 must have parental consent
- One account per person; multiple accounts are prohibited
- Users must provide a valid email address for account verification
4.2 Account Security
- Users are responsible for maintaining account security
- Users must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
- Campus Tea is not liable for losses due to unauthorized account use
- Users must use strong passwords and keep login credentials confidential
4.3 Account Verification
- Insiders must verify their university enrollment through their university email
- Prospective Students may be required to verify their educational background
- Verification documents may include transcripts, enrollment letters, or student IDs
- Unverified accounts may have limited access to platform features
4.4 Account Termination
- Users may terminate accounts at any time
- Campus Tea may suspend or terminate accounts for violations
- Upon termination, access to paid features ceases immediately
- Account data will be deleted according to our Privacy Policy
- Outstanding payments must be settled before account closure
5. USER RESPONSIBILITIES
5.1 Prospective Students
- Provide honest information about academic interests and college goals
- Respect scheduled session times and cancel with appropriate notice
- Pay for sessions as agreed
- Provide constructive feedback through reviews
- Understand that Insiders provide informational guidance, not formal educational services
5.2 College Insiders (Independent Contractors)
INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR STATUS: Insiders are independent contractors, not employees of Campus Tea. They are responsible for their own taxes, insurance, and business operations. Campus Tea does not control how Insiders provide their services.
- Maintain professional conduct during sessions
- Provide accurate, helpful informational guidance based on personal campus experience
- Share insights about campus life, classes, social activities, and college culture
- Respect student privacy and confidentiality
- Complete sessions as scheduled or provide adequate notice for changes
- Understand that they provide informational guidance, not formal educational instruction
- Comply with all applicable laws and regulations as independent contractors
- Handle their own tax obligations and business expenses
5.2.1 Email Communications for Insiders
REQUIRED EMAIL COMMUNICATIONS: Insiders must be willing to receive operational emails from Campus Tea regarding their account, bookings, and platform activities.
Insiders agree to receive the following types of emails:
- Booking Notifications: New meeting requests, booking confirmations, and schedule changes
- Account Updates: Profile changes, payment information, and account status updates
- Payment Information: Earnings statements, payment confirmations, and tax-related communications
- Student Communications: Messages from prospective students and session-related communications
- Support Communications: Customer support responses and technical assistance
- Compliance Notices: Terms of service updates, policy changes, and legal requirements
Note: Insiders may opt out of promotional emails but must receive operational communications to maintain their account and provide services effectively.
5.3 Session Recording Policy
NO RECORDING POLICY: Campus Tea does NOT record video sessions, calls, or any communications between users. All sessions are private and not monitored or recorded by the platform.
- Users are prohibited from recording sessions without explicit consent from all participants
- Any recording must comply with applicable privacy laws and regulations
- Users who record sessions are solely responsible for obtaining necessary consents
- Campus Tea is not responsible for any recordings made by users
- Violation of recording policies may result in account termination
6. CONTENT AND INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
6.1 User-Generated Content
Users may post, upload, or share content on the Platform, including but not limited to:
- Profile information, photos, and academic credentials
- Reviews, ratings, and feedback about sessions
- Campus insights, class information, and college experience sharing
6.2 Content Ownership
- Users retain ownership of their original content
- By posting content, users grant Campus Tea a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute such content
- This license is necessary for the operation and improvement of the Platform
- Users represent that they have the right to post content and that it does not infringe on third-party rights
6.3 Platform Content
- Campus Tea owns all Platform content, including design, functionality, and proprietary features
- Users may not copy, modify, or distribute Platform content without permission
- Trademarks, logos, and brand elements are protected intellectual property
- Unauthorized use of Platform content may result in legal action
6.4 Content Moderation
- Campus Tea reserves the right to review, edit, or remove user content
- Content that violates these Terms or applicable laws will be removed
- Users are responsible for ensuring their content complies with all applicable laws
- Repeated violations may result in account suspension or termination
7. PAYMENT TERMS
7.1 Session Pricing
- Session prices are set by individual Insiders
- Prices are displayed in USD and are non-negotiable
- All payments are processed through secure third-party payment processors
7.2 Payment Processing
- Payments are charged at the time of session booking
- Refunds are subject to our refund policy (see Section 6)
- Campus Tea takes a service fee from each transaction
- Insiders receive payment minus our service fee
7.3 Billing
- All charges are final unless otherwise stated
- Users are responsible for any applicable taxes
- Failed payments may result in service suspension
8. PLATFORM AVAILABILITY AND SERVICE LEVELS
8.1 Service Availability
- Campus Tea strives to maintain 99.9% uptime for the Platform
- Scheduled maintenance will be announced in advance when possible
- Emergency maintenance may be performed without prior notice
- Service interruptions due to third-party providers are beyond our control
8.2 Performance Standards
- We aim to provide responsive and reliable service
- Video sessions are conducted through third-party platforms (Zoom, Google Meet, etc.)
- Platform performance may vary based on user location and internet connection
- We are not responsible for technical issues caused by user equipment or internet service
8.3 Data Backup and Security
- User data is backed up regularly to prevent loss
- We implement industry-standard security measures
- Users are responsible for backing up their own important data
- We are not liable for data loss due to technical failures or security breaches
9. REFUND POLICY
9.1 Student Refunds
- Full refund if session is cancelled 24+ hours in advance
- 50% refund if session is cancelled 1-24 hours in advance
- No refund for cancellations less than 1 hour before session
- Full refund if Insider cancels or fails to show up
- Refunds processed within 5-10 business days
9.2 Insider Refunds
- Insiders may not issue direct refunds
- All refund requests must go through Campus Tea support
- Refunds to Insiders are subject to our payment processing terms
10. DATA PROTECTION AND PRIVACY
10.1 Data Collection
- We collect only necessary data to provide and improve our services
- Personal information is collected in accordance with our Privacy Policy
- Users consent to data processing when they create an account
- We implement appropriate security measures to protect user data
10.2 Data Usage
- Data is used to facilitate connections between users
- We may use anonymized data for analytics and platform improvement
- Personal data is not sold to third parties
- Data may be shared with service providers as necessary for platform operation
10.3 Data Retention
- Account data is retained while the account is active
- Session data is retained for 2 years for quality assurance
- Communication data is retained for 1 year
- Users may request data deletion at any time
10.4 User Rights
- Users have the right to access their personal data
- Users may request correction of inaccurate data
- Users may request deletion of their data
- Users may opt out of certain data processing activities
11. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
11.1 Platform Content
- Campus Tea owns all platform content, design, and functionality
- Users may not copy, modify, or distribute platform content
- Trademarks and logos are protected intellectual property
11.2 User Content
- Users retain ownership of their profile content
- Users grant Campus Tea license to use content for platform operation
- Users are responsible for ensuring they have rights to all content they post
12. COMPLIANCE AND REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS
12.1 Educational Compliance
- Insiders must comply with all applicable educational regulations
- Academic integrity policies must be followed at all times
- Plagiarism and academic dishonesty are strictly prohibited
- Users must respect intellectual property rights of educational institutions
- Insiders must clarify that they provide informational guidance, not formal educational instruction
12.2 Data Protection Compliance
- We comply with applicable data protection laws (GDPR, CCPA, etc.)
- Users have rights regarding their personal data
- Data processing is conducted in accordance with legal requirements
- Cross-border data transfers comply with applicable regulations
12.3 Platform Compliance
- We comply with all applicable platform and marketplace regulations
- Payment processing complies with financial regulations
- Content moderation follows applicable content standards
- We cooperate with law enforcement when legally required
13. PRIVACY AND DATA PROTECTION
User privacy is protected as described in our Privacy Policy. Personal information is collected and used in accordance with applicable laws. Users consent to data processing for platform functionality.
14. FORCE MAJEURE AND BUSINESS CONTINUITY
14.1 Force Majeure Events
- We are not liable for delays or failures due to circumstances beyond our control
- Force majeure events include natural disasters, pandemics, government actions, and technical failures
- We will make reasonable efforts to minimize the impact of such events
- Users will be notified of significant service disruptions when possible
14.2 Business Continuity
- We maintain business continuity plans to ensure service availability
- Critical services are prioritized during disruptions
- We work with third-party providers to maintain essential functions
- Users are responsible for backing up their important data
14.3 Service Interruptions
- We may temporarily suspend services for maintenance or upgrades
- Emergency suspensions may occur without prior notice
- We are not liable for losses due to service interruptions
- Users will be notified of planned maintenance when possible
15. PROHIBITED ACTIVITIES AND CONTENT
Users may not engage in the following activities or share content that includes:
15.1 General Prohibited Activities
- Provide false or misleading information
- Harass, abuse, or threaten other users
- Attempt to circumvent payment systems
- Use the platform for commercial purposes beyond approved activities
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
- Impersonate other users or entities
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to platform systems
15.2 Prohibited Content
Users may not share, promote, or discuss content related to:
- Illegal Activities: Any content promoting or facilitating illegal activities
- Drug Use and Substance Abuse: Content promoting, glorifying, or providing instructions for illegal drug use, drug dealing, or substance abuse
- Self-Harm and Suicide: Content promoting, encouraging, or providing instructions for self-harm, suicide, or self-destructive behaviors
- Terrorism and Violence: Content promoting terrorism, violent extremism, or acts of violence against individuals or groups
- Hate Speech: Content that promotes hatred, discrimination, or violence based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or other protected characteristics
- Sexual Content: Inappropriate sexual content, including but not limited to explicit material, sexual harassment, or content involving minors
- Dangerous Activities: Content promoting dangerous activities that could result in physical harm
- Fraud and Scams: Content designed to deceive, defraud, or scam other users
- Spam and Misleading Information: Spam, phishing attempts, or deliberately misleading information
15.3 Academic Integrity
- Plagiarism or academic dishonesty
- Sharing or selling academic work, assignments, or exam answers
- Providing false academic credentials or achievements
- Encouraging or facilitating academic misconduct
15.4 Enforcement
Violations of these prohibited activities will result in:
- Immediate content removal
- Account warnings or temporary suspension
- Permanent account termination for severe violations
- Reporting to appropriate authorities when required by law
- Legal action when necessary
16. USER SUPPORT AND DISPUTE RESOLUTION
16.1 Customer Support
- We provide customer support through email and in-platform messaging
- Support response times may vary based on inquiry complexity
- We aim to respond to urgent issues within 24 hours
- Non-urgent inquiries will be addressed within 3-5 business days
16.2 Dispute Resolution Process
- Users should first attempt to resolve disputes directly with other users
- If direct resolution fails, users may contact our support team
- We will investigate disputes and provide recommendations
- Our decisions are final and binding for platform-related disputes
16.3 Mediation and Arbitration
- Serious disputes may be referred to mediation
- If mediation fails, disputes may proceed to binding arbitration
- Arbitration will be conducted in Delaware under AAA rules
- Users waive the right to class action lawsuits
17. DISCLAIMERS AND LIMITATIONS
17.1 Platform Nature and Service Availability
- Campus Tea is a technology platform that facilitates connections between users
- We do not provide educational services, informational guidance, or content directly
- All informational guidance and campus insights are provided by independent third-party users
- We do not guarantee uninterrupted service
- Platform may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance
17.2 Third-Party Content and Informational Guidance
- Campus Tea does not guarantee the accuracy, quality, or reliability of informational guidance provided by Insiders
- Insiders are independent contractors, not employees or agents of Campus Tea
- Users rely on Insider informational guidance at their own risk
- We are not responsible for decisions made based on informational guidance received through the platform
- We do not endorse, verify, or validate the credentials or qualifications of Insiders
- Insiders provide personal experiences and insights, not professional educational services
17.3 Limitation of Liability
- Campus Tea's liability is limited to the amount paid for platform services
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
- We are not liable for the actions, omissions, or content of third-party users
- Some jurisdictions may not allow liability limitations
18. TERMINATION AND SUSPENSION
18.1 User-Initiated Termination
- Users may terminate their accounts at any time
- Termination requests should be submitted through the platform or support
- Account data will be deleted according to our Privacy Policy
- Outstanding payments must be settled before account closure
18.2 Platform-Initiated Termination
- We may suspend or terminate accounts for Terms violations
- Serious violations may result in immediate termination
- Users will be notified of termination reasons when possible
- Terminated users may not create new accounts without permission
18.3 Effect of Termination
- Access to paid features ceases immediately upon termination
- User content may be deleted according to our data retention policy
- Outstanding obligations remain in effect after termination
- Certain provisions of these Terms survive termination
19. INDEMNIFICATION
Users agree to indemnify Campus Tea against claims arising from:
- User violations of these Terms
- User content or conduct
- User use of the platform
- User interactions with other users
20. GOVERNING LAW AND JURISDICTION
20.1 Governing Law
- These Terms are governed by Delaware state law
- Disputes will be resolved in Delaware state courts or federal courts located in Delaware
- Campus Tea is incorporated in the State of Delaware
- Delaware law applies regardless of user location
20.2 Jurisdiction
- Users consent to the jurisdiction of Delaware courts
- Federal courts in Delaware have jurisdiction over federal matters
- Users waive any objection to venue in Delaware
- Service of process may be made by email or registered mail
20.3 International Users
- International users are subject to Delaware law
- Users are responsible for compliance with local laws
- We may restrict access from certain jurisdictions
- Data transfers comply with applicable international regulations
21. DISPUTE RESOLUTION
21.1 Arbitration Process
- Disputes may be resolved through binding arbitration in Delaware
- Arbitration will be conducted by the American Arbitration Association
- Arbitration costs are shared between parties
- Users waive right to class action lawsuits
21.2 Mediation
- Parties may attempt mediation before arbitration
- Mediation is non-binding and confidential
- Mediation costs are shared between parties
- If mediation fails, disputes proceed to arbitration
21.3 Small Claims
- Users may pursue small claims court actions
- Small claims actions are not subject to arbitration
- Users may represent themselves in small claims court
- Small claims actions must be filed in Delaware
22. MODIFICATIONS AND UPDATES
22.1 Right to Modify
- Campus Tea may modify these Terms at any time
- Modifications will be posted on the Platform
- Users will be notified of significant changes via email
- Continued use constitutes acceptance of modified Terms
22.2 Notice of Changes
- Material changes will be announced 30 days in advance
- Emergency changes may be implemented immediately
- Users will receive email notifications of important updates
- Changes will be effective upon posting unless otherwise specified
22.3 User Rights
- Users may terminate their accounts if they disagree with changes
- Termination must be requested within 30 days of change notification
- Outstanding obligations remain in effect after termination
- Users may contact support with questions about changes

- These Terms constitute the entire agreement between users and Campus Tea
- Previous agreements are superseded by these Terms
- No oral agreements modify these Terms
24.3 Waiver
- Failure to enforce any provision does not constitute a waiver
- Waivers must be in writing and signed by Campus Tea
- Waivers apply only to the specific instance and provision
24.4 Assignment
- Users may not assign their rights or obligations without consent
- Campus Tea may assign these Terms to affiliates or successors
- Assignment does not relieve users of their obligations
